What’s Free Week?

Free Week is a long-standing tradition in Austin. It’s a music festival where dozens of local bands and artists play across multiple venues and concerts are admission-free for attendees. It was originally started back in 2003 to help keep clubs and venues afloat during the slower winter months.

• Dates: January 9-10, 2026 
• Location: Various music venues throughout the Red River Cultural District — a cluster of well-known music spots in downtown Austin. 
• Expect live music every night, local talent, and a full-on community celebration of Austin’s legendary “live music” spirit.
